Overcaring

Over care for the welfare of others (Beech, Chicory, Rock Water, Vervain, Vine)
For individuals who may be too critical of others, or for those who are too possessive, for those who set such high standards for themselves, for those who are over enthusiastic or pushy in their beliefs, or for those who are domineering and inflexible.

Beech

The type of person who finds it hard not to criticise the way other people act, speak or do things. We take this remedy when other people's idiosyncrasies get on our nerves, and we find it hard to tolerate the way they behave or live.

The positive quality of the remedy is understanding and tolerance.

Chicory

Remedy indications: people of a "mothering" nature who enjoy keeping friends and family close, and who like to know they are needed. We take this remedy when our natural care and concern for others becomes selfish or possessive or leads us to manipulate our loved ones and interfere in their lives.

The positive quality of the remedy is selfless love.

Rock Water

Strictness in one's way of living, self- martyrdom and rigidity. We take this remedy when an attempt to live up to some ideal leads us to turn away from the simple joy of living. In a Rock Water state, we like to set an example to others. To that end we are strict with ourselves and deny ourselves pleasures in case they interfere with our aims.

The positive quality of the remedy is to be kinder to ourselves and take greater pleasure from living.

Vervain

Over-enthusiasm about principles that leads to emotional tension, overwork or fanaticism. We take this remedy when our love of justice or our wish to convert others to our way of thinking has a negative effect on our emotional health, leaving us perhaps tense, perhaps angry, perhaps exhausted or unable to switch off.

The positive quality of the remedy is an ability to live in a more measured way. We regain a sense of proportion and can understand other points of view.

Vine

Using strength of will to dominate and control other people. We take this remedy when we start to believe other people should do things our way, to such an extent that we use force of personality to impose our will.

The positive quality of the remedy is to be a good leader who is strong enough to give others their freedom.
